The Original Gibson Dry Martini Cocktail

You will need for a single glass:

5-6 ice cubes
9-10 tablespoons gin
1.5-2 tablespoons extra dry sherry
1 pickled pearl onion

1 Put the ice cubes into a glass jug.
2 Pour the sherry and gin over the ice.
3 Stir (dont shake) vigorously and evenly without splashing.
4 Strain and pour into a chilled martini glass.
5 Spear an onion with a toothpick, drop it into the drink and serve.
